In the field of electronic discharge machining we have more than 30 years of experience. The extensive experience in 3D printing is based on selective laser melting, which has been co-developed by the managing director Dr.-Ing. Christoph Over at the Fraunhofer Institute and is being in use for 15 years now. We cooperate in research & development with RWTH Aachen and the Fraunhofer Institutes for Laser Technology and production techniques in order to continuously develop the newest technology.
Selective laser melting allows the manufacturing of complex components, which cannot be produced with conventional methods, such as milling or drilling. Design possibilities become available in geometry and design, which could not be accomplished until additive manufacturing arrived, for example, contour close channels inside of parts or load absorbing inner structures.
Basic cases are: prototypes, implants ( medical), small series and lightweight design.
„Filament PM“ - this is a brand of Czech filament for 3D Printing (FFF technology).
„Filament PM“ offers wide variety of materials (like PLA, PETG, ABS not dead, ABS-T, RubberJeEt, or PAJet) in two diameters (1,75mm or 2,90mm).
The weight of spool is 1 kg with basic materials like PLA, ABS, PETG; and 0,5kg with special ones as RubberJet, PAJet or CFJet.
Filaments under the brand „Filament PM“ are produced by the Czech company „PLASTY MLADEC“, which also deals with the production of Plastic Profiles for Air-Conditioning.
„FILAMENT PM“ offers interesting PLA colours as their PLA PEARL EDITION, or many beautiful transparent PETG variations, also more engineering filament as PAJet.

The LZN Laser Zentrum Nord GmbH was incorporated into the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft on January 1, 2018 as the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Additive Manufacturing Technologies IAPT, Fraunhofer IAPT for short.
